The Power of Daily Affirmations
Daily affirmations or Mantras. Chances are you have heard of this practice, even if it is not something you have tried before. The practice of daily affirmations is a powerful form of self care and empowerment that helps alter your mindset, leading to positive behavioural changes, that ultimately can change your life. With just a few words every day, you can start to change your world for the better.
Daily Mantras To Find Joy
How Do Daily Affirmations Work?
Affirmations are one of the most powerful things you can do to change your life around. Why? Because by repeating a few sentences every day that remind you of the wonderful person you are, you’ll be setting yourself up for success.
Don’t believe me? Ask the experts! What you think, you become, and affirmations help us reprogram our subconscious minds, altering our mindset and beliefs, which affect all of our actions.
Our words have incredible power. What we say can bless or blast others. Our words have the same power over ourselves. What words you choose to say to yourself can either bring blessings to yourself or blast and harm yourself. For many people, their harshest, most damaging critic is themselves. They say things that are incredibly harmful and that they would never say to any other person. Yet they say these things to themselves.
It is important that we stop these damaging words and replace them with uplifting, empowering and loving words.
By reciting positive affirmations you are using the power of your words to fill your own bucket with love and blessings.
By saying daily affirmations, we are changing our brains and in the process, turn positive words into positive actions.
When And How To Do Affirmations
Even though you can practice positive affirmations at any time of the day, I am a huge believer in doing affirmations in the morning.
When the day is brand new, our brains are fresh and receptive to positive influences. The way we choose to spend a few minutes before going about our business can have a huge impact on how you’ll tackle anything that life throws your way.
To do your affirmations, find a way that is most comfortable for you. This could be while you are in the shower, while meditating, on your drive to work, or my favourite way is to take a moment, look myself in the eye in the mirror, and recite my affirmations.

10 Daily Affirmations To Repeat Every Morning
I give myself permission to <insert your dreams and desires>.
What have you always wanted to do? Giving yourself permission to do what your heart desires is one of the most difficult things to do, so take the plunge and allow yourself to go ahead and do it. Whether it’s finally starting that business, to treat yourself to a little self-care, or simply setting boundaries with a toxic co-worker, give yourself permission to put YOURSELF first every morning.
I forgive others.
Chances are that, throughout your lifetime, someone has hurt you at least once. Holding grudges is absolutely human, so don’t beat yourself up for feeling a little angry at someone.
That said, it’s important to learn when it’s time to let go and take the necessary steps to forgive those who have wronged you. Not only will your life improve when you start to focus your energy on yourself and those who add value to your life, but the emotional weight you’ll lift by forgiving is worth it. Emotional healing isn’t linear, but reminding yourself through affirmations every morning that you’re willing to forgive (for YOU) will ultimately add up and take you a step closer.
I forgive myself.
Speaking of forgiveness, many of us tend to place the blame on ourselves, and even though admitting our mistakes is actually an extremely mature personality trait, it’s also important to practice self-compassion, learn, and forgive ourselves for past mistakes.
I move from poverty thinking to abundance thinking.
Money woes are never fun, but manifesting financial freedom is the first step towards achieving abundance. Set yourself up for success by believing you are worthy of monetary success because, even though money doesn’t buy happiness, it sure as hell does matter.
I am worthy of my achievements and aspirations.
Ahhh, imposter syndrome! It creeps in on even the most successful of people and even though being humble is a wonderful character trait, we also have to give ourselves permission to celebrate ourselves and our achievements. You are worthy of feeling proud of your journey, and damn right you’re worthy of what’s yet to come!
I trust my inner guide (gut).
Ever heard the phrase “trust your gut”? Even though it might sound like a simple idiom, it’s actually scientifically proven that our guts can tell us when something just isn’t feeling quite right. Our brains are always at work, and they can very well process things around us even though we aren’t consciously aware of it.
Our gut is our inner guide, and we should never ignore that tingling in our tummies – it’s never wrong! Remind yourself every day that you actually know what’s best for you, and that you should always trust the signs your body sends your way.
I feel confident.
Becoming a confident person takes a whole lot of time and effort, and it all starts by reminding ourselves that it’s okay to feel good about who we are. Celebrate everything that makes YOU the wonderfully unique person you are!
Times are difficult, but they are only temporary.
Daily affirmations are meant to be positive, but life isn’t always so. That said, though, while we can’t control what life throws our way, we CAN control the way we react.
If you’re currently struggling or going through a tough time, remind yourself that it’s temporary and it’s only meant to be a chapter in your life that will soon pass to make space for better things.
I let go and I trust.
Feeling the need to be in control all of the time can be exhausting. Many people struggle with a need for perfection. They want everything done a certain way and want to control things, often things that they really can not control. Being able to surrender and trust can help improve your mental state and help you relax into the flow of events around you that truly are outside of your control.
I am enough.
Because you ABSOLUTELY are and it’s about time you start believing it!
Finally, as you become more comfortable with the practice of daily affirmations, start writing your own. Believe in your own power and tell yourself every day the words that you need to hear to find your own personal abundance, success, and joy.
